This is a Black Butte Porter clone courtesy of Let’s Brew in Portland, OR.
Grains:
6oz Chocolate
6oz Black
8oz Honey Malt
8oz Light Crystal
4oz Victory
7lbs Light Malt Extract
8oz Malto Dextrin (Dry Malt)
Hops:
1 1/2 oz No. Brewer (Bittering @ 60 min)
1 oz Cascade (Flavor @ 15 min)
1 oz Tettnanger (Aroma @ 1 min)

For primary fermentation, should you use a plastic or glass fermenter? I’ve been using glass (7 gallon), but my recent batch was started in plastic. It isn’t done yet, so I can’t comment on the flavor. One thing for sure - it sure is a lot easier to clean the plastic!

These are the instructions that I’ve used.
Make sanitizer solution: Mix 5 gallons of water with 1 Tbs. of Iodophor Sanitizer.
Take yeast out of refrigerator.
Put one pot on the stove with 1 gallon of water.
Bring the water to 160 degrees.
Take the pot off the heat and add the grains.
Set the timer for 20-30 minutes.
